Nice, free, small museum that seems to have a few temporary exhibits at any given time. It's a great place to stop to get out of the heat in the Summer and take in some culture. There's a restaurant and cafe as well that looked like a nice place to grab a snack and relax. It's not a must-see, but if you're nearby or just looking for a way to spend an hour, definitely stop in.
Extensions have enabled the gallery to spread out their exhibits which gives a great feeling of space. A comprehensive collection of Australian art on display. Cafe has a wonderful ambience and good food
If you are walking around Sydney, and you want to do some cultural activity, don't miss this gallery! It is free entry! Great variety of art from Australia and also from all over the world. It also have some special exhibitions, and you may have to pay to see them but it is worth it! After the Botanical Garden you can go straight to the Art gallery.
Very nice museum of contemporary art. Accessible for free. Diverse collection reaching from aboriginal art, via common popular art to experimental modern art. Beautifully displayed in a pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommended.
On Friday with family and 4 year old was loaned art kit by the gallery with guidance on suggested activities. Great for kids in the school hols. Beautiful selection of Asian works around the theme of water. Live music. A place of real joy and high culture.
