Melbourne's beautiful little secret
Beautiful park with lots of green open space. Dog friendly and off leash area.
Great park for dog walks, basketball, BBQs, kids park, toilets, kids bike training, footy oval, cricket in summer, a few drink taps. Lots of parking on Yarra Blvd.
Visited the Sesame Street Circus today, my young grandson would have much preferred more of the Sesame Street characters and less of the circus acts and as the audience was mainly young children with many under 5 the cycles in the cage probably was a bit too much with many children crying and scared. For the adults it was great.
Burnley Park is a gorgeous park hidden away in Richmond. It's the perfect place for taking dogs for a walk as there is wide open space and when the sports oval isn't being used by Soccer/Cricket teams the dogs can run freely and play - plus there are a lot of dogs around the area who are generally pretty friendly and playful (the owners are pretty nice too).
There are also some coin operated BBQs dotted about the park to take family or friends and it has a playground for the kids (no dogs allowed on the playground) and some shade under the large trees.
