Very informative and enjoyable. We learned a lot, not knowing all that much about this prestigious award.
I was here several years ago and it was a great use of space in the hangar bay of the Yorktown.
Interesting Observation: As you know, there are so few CM of H's awarded today but if you look at the ones that were issued during the Civil War, there were an astonishing number of recipients. Yes, upward of one million men fought and died in that war but the reason so many CMoH's were issued was because it was the only medal for gallantry that they had at the time. There were no lesser medals like the silver or bronze star.
The Medal of Honor Museum on board the U.S.S. Yorktown is wonderful tribute to the men and women who have made a difference in the world and for the people of the United States.
great experience all should visit. inspirational.
Very well done and worth the extra time while visiting the Yorktown.
