Description
Davidson High School, is a school located in Frenchs Forest, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, on Mimosa Street. It is a co-educational high school operated by the New South Wales Department of Education and Communities with students from years 7 to 12. The school was established in 1972 as a result of the growing population in the Frenchs Forest and Belrose areas.Davidson High has a prominent history of involvement in the performing arts, in Dance, Drama and Music, and annually produces the "Season of Performing Arts" at the local Glen Street Theatre. In 2004 and 2007, Davidson High entered the New South Wales Rock Eisteddfod Competition with pieces relating to the Iraq war. Both performances came under a lot of media scrutiny, with a similar result. Many of its alumni have gone on to notable success, some taking high public office and others gaining distinction within their particular fields.HistoryDavidson High School was originally to be called Sorlie High School after George Sorlie, an idealistic developer of land in the district. However, the residents of the area requested a change of name for the suburb, which was granted. The new suburb, and consequently the new high school, was named after Sir Walter Davidson, a popular Governor of New South Wales from 1918 until his death in 1923, and to whom the parklands of 2500acre called Davidson Park were dedicated, which now lies within Garigal National Park. This forms the western boundary of Davidson. However the site of the school lies not in Davidson but on the western edge of Frenchs Forest.

only decent school ive seen, but the board games have missing pieces and baker gives too much homework. 1 star
This school had the audacity to block cool math games, not to forget the canteen prices jumping 50 WHOLE CENTS! and the multitude of missing uno cards is quite frankly atrocious.
Mr Giang is pretty cool though
The buildings are ugly, outdated and filthy, and is the gas-heating even legal?! There's an absolute lack of uniform code enforcement. To the point where students might as well wear mufti everyday, the faculty won't notice. The toilets are beyond vile and honestly, the level of filth is probably lethal. Many teachers are disinterested, passionless or flat-out don't care. I've even caught some searching up cruises to the Caribbean during class time! Even as I'm nearing senior school, teachers hand out crosswords and play games! Most of my time at this school is spent sitting around watching movies, doing nothing. Some teachers even go as far as to reward students with lollies like we're in primary school. Students are taught the bare minimum of content, yet are expected to have a understanding to a highly complex level during examinations.
Worst of all, the school ironically holds presentations about mental health without addressing the actual issue. You guessed it. SCHOOL! This attitude toward teenage mental health is excruciatingly embarrassing. Might as well slap a band-aid on a broken arm, because that's how they help their students.
Apart from the few amazing teachers and a plethora of creative, academic and extracurricular, there's not much good to say.
RESPECT. RESPONSIBILITY. EFFORT.
Yeah, right...
