Description
Supporting and promoting all member club's individual endeavours, MDSRC strives to represent its affiliated organisations by positively presenting a collaborative face to all tiers of government, assisting in the search for funding and infrastucture requirements. Currently 52 district sport, service and recreational clubs have affiliated with MDSRC and there are 280 individual members. Organisers of Maleny's Annual Awards Dinner, that recognises the achievements of the districts outstanding individuals, teams, clubs and administrators. MDSRC hosts a yearly Celebrity Cricket Match, with all funds generated donated to charity. Works to promote and encourage sport and recreational activities, especially amongst children. Works in partnership with the Sunshine Coast Council and other stakeholders in the development of the Maleny Community Precinct in delivering sporting and recreational facilities for the district. Has a lease on an area of land there now called Maleny Sports Park which is being developed for community sport and recreational uses.

The Maleny Sport & Recreation Club has pulled together an amazing group of well over 50 local Maleny & Hinterland groups and clubs of all types. This is an amazing effort!
