0 stars. My doctor sent me to the lab for a pregnancy test at ORMC. I have insurance and was billed $521 for my part of this test. They billed my insurance $953. If you do not have insurance it costs $115. Absolutely unscrupulous and unethical billing practices. When questioned, they essentially said they bill so much because they can. And the billing department said next time to just not have them file my insurance. There will not be a next time!
The ER Doctor up here didn't even run the tests that were supposed to be ran on my son, he has been sick since Saturday I took him to his primary doctor on Monday and said that it was a stomach virus and told me to take him to the er if he symptoms continues, which I did this morning. We weren't in there ten minutes they stabbed him for strep and the flu the ER doctor threw those tests away looked at his ear said it was an ear infection and that was it and sent us on our way. Didn't run test didn't do anything. The nurses where very helpful aside from the doctor. Doctor Vinson I will say one thing im very disappointed and we will no longer be using ormc as long as he is there. I'm highly upset that this happened and also he told me my sons primary doctor didn't tell me to take him to the er if his symptoms continued. He was being lazy and didn't care about my son
I was seen at ORMC on 9/7/20 for muscle spasms. The RN at the front who checked me in was Brittany. She was very professional and assisted with getting me checked in and into my treatment room. There was another nurse named Brittany who came in to take my blood and she had a rough time drawing blood because I have rolling veins. She did her best to make me comfortable and to keep me calm. She finally got some blood but it wasn't enough. I could tell that she takes pride in her work. She didn't want to hurt me so she had another nurse named Lorraine to come in and get my blood and to give me a shot. All of the nurses were awesome to me. My PA Rebecca Deggs was the best. She showed concern for my pain and my bp and she assured me that she would take care of me. She delivered. I'm not from Odessa but due to working here I was referred to ORMC. I pray that I never have to go back but if so I'm going to ask for Brittany x2,Lorraine and Rebecca Deggs. The only complaint I have is the janitors need to keep the waiting room clean.
My pregnant wife sat inside the ER for over 5 hours before finally seeing the doctor. During the waiting period every nurse she encountered was either rude, uninformative, or both. The nurse who who did the sonogram couldn’t even provide details and kept ignoring my wife’s questions even after she finished the sono. I thought hospitals were supposed to care for the sick. Being rude, ignoring patients, and failing to provide critical information during a time of crisis is anything but caring. We are very disappointed in the lack of professionalism that certain members of the hospital staff at ORMC represent. Shame on you! You know who you are. You guys can do better. Become a nurse because you care about people. Don’t talk about it, be about it.
Everyone I came in contact with last Tuesday, June 23rd, was very courteous, understanding, and was able to answer all my questions. At no time, did I feel apprehensive. I would not hesitate to recommend this facility to anyone. God bless them and everything they do.
