Nice place
I stayed for 5 days for a spiritual retreat. Our group was very well treated. The food was excellent! The chapel and our rooms were very nice.
Terrible experience. Spiritually this trip was okay, a lot of prayer. My mother is the one who went, shes not one to complain, so i decided to write a review based on what shes told me. She headed up on Thursday, came back Sunday. By Saturday she was starving, the food was far less than satisfying and against many health violations. She received lack of options for breakfast lunch and dinner. The yogurt and hard boiled eggs weren't kept cold, they should know yogurt is full of bacteria that can become harmful if not stored at proper temperatures. For dinner they used leftovers of the night before, mixed in with new food that was also sub-par. The coffee was left out over night, and they would just turn on the machine that makes it hot and served old, cold, coffee. For 200 dollars, i would assume they would at least be served edible meals. The food was overcooked, the bacon wasn't cooked at all. Many people complained of stomach upset on the way home. The owner had kids working in the kitchen, as young as 9, washing dishes and serving food. So needless to say, there were dirty dishes which we were expected to eat off of. We are writing an email to the Board of Health, not because we are angry but because we are looking out for future people on this trip, someone is going to get food poisoning there! Very VERY unsafe conditions at this house. Unprofessional, and seems to me like they were just trying to save every buck they could. Suggest you bring your own food.
