Been a member for about 17 years and always loved the place. I find club / pool / facility /staff to be of reasonably solid quality in every way. I keep coming back for a relaxing adult swim during a busy work week.
I did not like the swim team. I'm not sure about anyone else, but when me and my sister were new there, the coach never gave me and her a chance to swim any individual events. They only have 1 team event all summer, which is a pasta party at the end of the year. My current swim team has 6 team events, plus one every Monday. As for the pool, I'm not a fan that there is only 2, but the pool club I go to (Larchmont Swim Club) has 5 pools. I didn't really think the staff was friendly when I went there. Things may have changed, since the last time I went there was 2016, but I was not a fan.
Me and my friend amd her daughter planned to meet up at this pool. She called the pool on a 3 way while on the phone with me and she asked them if you are a guest and didnt live in town how much would it be to get in the pool. They replied $5 for weekdays and weekends are $10. She never mentioned having to be a member or having to know anyone whos a member. So my friend (who is of lighter skin aka white) got there first. She had no issues she gave her name and was able to swim. When I arrived (im of datker skin aka black) they gave me attitude and told me that I were not allowed to swim. My friend comes over and tell them thats not what they said over the phone. One of the employees then says that my friend and her daughter can be her guests for today and just left me out. We all ended up leaving.
I love this place but I am here at 12:00 and they are not open even though it says open
Tho ive gone by here since 60s...and now membership is open to people outside of barrington...i would never step foot in this place....it has been no secret that blacks arent welcome...
