Oh my god! I don't mean to be dramatic- nevermind yes i do THIS CAMP WAS THE BEST!!! So many fond memories and good times and i hate to see everybody relying on the news screwing things up for it. It really is a wonderful camp, and you should go there before saying anything. The view is beautiful, wildlife is everywhere, and if you travel around the streams and creek its almost like it splits into 2 places! Let me elaborate sorry. If you look up to the cliff near the deep pool of water its like a grassland while the rest around you is forest. Tonto Creek Camp is probably the best thing that'll happen in my life! I would absolutely LOVE to go back some day!

This camp is just an excellent example of standing up for what you believe. I applaud you!! And shame on the news media for turning so many against you. Please feel encouraged, there are many many more who support you then those who condemn you.

Promoting an inclusive camp to all children. Then telling certain children they can't attend. Because there different. Offering separate tent. Is the same as bullying, tormenting a child. As children in 1 tent seeing a solo individual in another. Is harder. That one individual will be bullied by other individuals out of jealousy, hatred, mostly camp counselor will cause, and allow. Look at camp crystal lake How did jason turn out. The camp promoted itself as inclusive with a focus on anti bullying. Offering a scholarship. Then refunding it. Clearly not living up to.

Too bad you are not truly inclusive as you promote your camp to be. Not allowing a transgender foster child to attend your camp is EXclusive, discrimination and prejudiced. Shame on you.

The overall experience was good with the exception of having to do 3 hikes on the same day we arrived; due to our astronomy class being cancelled. We were with 4th grade girls group and there was a total of 30 girls including 10 of us adults, we were placed in a cabin that hadn't been cleaned. There weren't enough bed/cot mattresses so we had to get some mattresses from our boys group. Our cabin only had 2 showers for all 40 of us. When we spoke to one of the young ladies in regards to being put in the wrong cabin and how late our girls would be getting to bed her response, "Well this is camp" was more upsetting. Regardless of it being camp our girls wanted the experience of being able to take a shower and rest after 3 long hikes. The meals were about one of the best things of this camp along with the Springs & Ponds class and the Low Ropes obstacle course. For future reference I would like to suggest that you take the group size into account before setting a large group into a cabin with only 2 showers. Also do a cleaning inspection before the arrival of your camp groups. 2 of our Teachers had to clean the showers on our first night there because of how dirty the showers were in our cabin.
