Great place - absolutely beautiful grounds. Southern hospitality at its' finest. Dinner at Prime 44 West was amazing. Fan Duel sports book was top notch - very friendly staff and very helpful. Definitely looking forward to the next trip very soon!
The hotel was magnificent and so was the service. The rooms are old but everything was comfortable and clean. My only complaint is the price of everything and all the additional fees you get when you check out. If you don’t mind paying $770 for one night with just lunch and dinner with no activities then you will enjoy it. The activity prices are sky high.
Honestly can not wait to go back. To be thrown back to the charm and grace of days gone by was a real treat. The opulent wall and flooring decor and all of its' grander may be too dated for some, but it was really creates a great experience. Something new and colorful to see every corner you turn.
Really enjoyed cocktails in the many seating areas around the main bar, whether patio, couch or intimate tables throughout the adjoining spaces. The nightly champagne toast and waltz is a special little treat as well!
We did not try all of the on property dining, was not a fan of the breakfast either seated or room service, however we did enjoy Jerry West's Steakhouse twice and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
I definitely advise looking into which activities there are to take advantage of in advance and reserve them so you don't miss out. Also, book dining in advance as that seems to book up very quickly.
Definitely worth the trip!
We spent a wonderful 10 days at The Greenbrier. So many activities and adventures, great meals with friends, golf, and spa days that we forgot it was actually a work meeting for our business. Highlights for us were the Gun Club, our day with Patty for a horseback ride in the rain, and two great dinners at Prime 44. We purchased a gorgeous fossil at Gibson’s so that our home has a stunning memento of this trip.
What a magnificent resort hotel nestled in the rolling hills of West Virginia. The property itself is beautiful, complete with plenty of sitting areas tastefully decorated and with the bold use of colors. In addition to the amazing property and unique amenities, there is also a secret government bunker hidden below the West Virginia wing. Since being uncovered in 1992, the bunker has welcomed visitors to see the disaster hideout for the US congress.
I didn't get to stay in the hotel, but would love to return and do so.
