Only grass practice range in the area. Good length to the course and challenging layout throughout. Greens were a bit bumpy cause they recently aerated but this is a great course to play in the east bay.

Mission Hills is a great Club for real tennis Fans and their Family! My son started to take group lesson and private lesson from this Summary. Coach Carmen is a great teacher of Junior players. She not only gives very details technical guide to every kid, also adjusts by kids' own body/skill conditions. We all lover her coaching, and my son improved a lot in previous months!

My 5 year old Son is taking tennis lessons from Carmen for the past 5 months. We are extremely satisfied with Carmen's way of coaching. She focus on each kid and knows exactly what is needed for each one of them. She keeps the learning fun for the kids, always got a trick or two to keep the kids engaged. I would definitely recommend Mission Hills and Coach Carmen.

We LOVE this place! It is a hidden gem in Fremont. Best tennis environment with great management. Newly resurfaced courts surrounded by beautiful redwood trees. The owner John is always there and very friendly and helpful! My husband once forgot to bring balls to play with my son while my daughter was taking lessons. John let them borrow some balls to play with. So nice of him! Our kids enjoy the pool and their group tennis lessons with Coach Tendo, Carmen and Amanda. Virtual Zumba class was also fun to do with my kids at home. They have a variety of workout classes to choose from. We highly recommend joining this club!!

We had a great time. It was great for our older kids but for our preschool age kids not so much. All the play areas and petting zoo were all closed. Water fountains all turned off and only the stores open at the entrance. Bring your own beverages or buy it when you first get there because all the usual eating spots are closed. Everything else was closed. Was not worth the entrance fee when everything for the kids is off limits. The time limit also has you feeling rushed. Gives you barely enough time to get around the whole zoo. With little ones it a little harder. The ride up the mountain was amazing. We all enjoyed it and loved all the animals up there. Again, wish the play areas were open and water fountains. But with Covid it all has to be closed. I just don’t think it was worth the $120 we paid to get in when all the kids stuff were closed off. Especially petting zoo.

The day we went it was one of the hottest days. Even with that though the kids had a blast. It was not crowded because its reservations only. Most the time people stayed away and followed the rules. I did see a couple people trying take off their mask but as soon as they saw others looking they would put it back on. I think it would be a good idea for them to out a couple spots throughout the zoo to let people remove their masks to grab a drink or have a snack. Most the food was closed just the main places at the main entrance and a couple spots for sweet treats. It was a good day though

You could not go wrong sending your kid here. This program has amazing coaches, hard working kids, and incredible resources. Everyone, parents included, work so hard to make this team a continued national contender every single year. Yet it's not all about winning, it's about building strong character too. I had the pleasure of rowing here for three years and it changed my life. Top tier rowing program with amazing staff and kids.

It's very nice inside and out. If you have access, the players' cars are a must see. I have seen many unique cars such as a Cyan Jaguar F-Type and many other interesting cars. Too bad they are moving to Vegas. This was a fun spot to check out. (FYI I had access due to my father working on their AC)

4/24/16 The absolute best run I've ever participated in was my recent Save Mt. Diablo 10K Trail Run last weekend. There were luxury bus shuttles to Castle Rock Park from Northgate High School and they ran frequently. A wonderful baggage check area was well organized, and they had lots of tents set up to assist people who hadn't picked up their packets early. The course was beautiful with lots of hills and creek crossings. The drink/aid stations were the best part. They had all sorts of snacks, drinks, candy, treats, and even ice cold water to sponge you off if you wanted! It was amazing! At the finish, after receiving beautiful medals, delicious It's It ice cream was being passed out. I picked pumpkin flavor and enjoyed the sweet treat before waiting in line for some chips, popcorn, fruit, cookies and candy. There was also a plate of BBQ available for $10, but I probably would pass this up next year - the event food was better than the plate I received. Everything about this race was perfect. It was absolutely my favorite event thanks to the great organizers and volunteers. Brazen racing is the best!

I attended both the Athenian middle and upper school – seven years – and I loved every minute of it. In college I remember hearing the high school horror stories of my peers, and thinking that I had nothing to contribute. I had Morning Meeting instead of Home Room. Many classes were held outside in full view of the rolling hills of Mt. Diablo instead of dark, concrete classrooms. On my daily march to drama, I walked past a Peace Pole rather than a metal detector. Athenian’s rigorous academics prepared me well for the small liberal arts college I attended after high school. I was not afraid of the looming ten-page paper. One of the most important skills that Athenian taught me was how to self-manage and self-motivate. I had confidence in my skills as a scholar, and I knew how to manage my time. I ran cross-country all through high school and then added winter and spring track to the docket in college. A year-round athlete with three-hour daily practices, and I still managed to graduate summa cum laude AND have a social life. Athenian taught me to be dedicated to my team, efficient in my studies, and deeply invested in my relationships. Athenian is not just a school; it is a community of passionate and caring individuals - of all ages. In the seventh grade my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, and the entire middle school organized for meals to be brought to our house for months and months. In suburbia where we knew little about the neighbors who shared our streets and stop signs, the Athenian community became my family’s safety net. The bonds of that community have never been broken. I am still close with friends and teachers I met while at Athenian. I make at least one annual pilgrimage to California’s Bay Area to scamper through the hills with old friends. I struggled with the Athenian Wilderness Experience (AWE) as did all students. It is not meant to coddle you – but rather, empower you. I sprained both my ankles the first week, and yes, it hurt. There were long, cold nights in the desert, when the sun sank below the canyons leaving us in sub-zero temperatures, huddling together for warmth. Yes, I still laugh when I think about the food that the boys ate on the trail: sardines, mustard, squeezable butter, peanut butter and jelly sandwiched between two pieces of military-issue hardtack (think flour-frisbee). But the patrol leaders were well-trained wilderness guides, and they knew how to walk the line between discomfort and danger. They always intervened before things got out of hand. We were high schoolers after all! What’s more, AWE only fostered in me a love for the wilderness. I am now an experienced “Fast and Light” backpacker. I have traveled all over the US and the world crossing freezing rivers, endless mountain passes, and climbing peaks to behold the vast wonders hidden in the remaining pristine corners of this earth. I am now a post-doctoral research scientist in the Earth Institute at Columbia University. Although, I spend most of my time living in Kenya and Tanzania studying how to simultaneously ensure environmental sustainability, poverty alleviation, and food security in sub-Saharan Africa. I love the challenge of my job, the dedication of my colleagues, and the relationships I know have with families on the other side of the world. I would not be here without Athenian – the skills, the curiosity, and the confidence that my seven years there instilled in my heart.
