I love this place! There are 3 swimming pool options: a 33 yard adult lap pool, a 25 yard lap pool, slightly warmer, and a toddler pool. All are crystal clean and at the right temperature. I appreciate the open and expansive weight room with many options, and a friendly and knowledgeable staff! This club is kid friendly and family oriented with many activities for kids and adults alike.

Nice club, have good facilities. It is clean and well maintained, not too big, not too crowded. It makes you feel home. My daughter swims in their swim team. Great coaches, flexible and accommodating the kids needs, good atmosphere, motivational, and give personal attention. She really likes going to the training sessions and loves swimming. Thanks!

Ball fields and a small (horseback) riding arena. Also has trail access for mountain bikes and, one would assume, trail riding for horses. The town often puts on events here. Restrooms and water fountain and water bottle filler at the north end, picnic tables at the south end by the arena. Tables are a little rough and dirty. This is not a place for a family picnic, but for organized (and authorized) sporting events. It is nice for what it is. I ride by on my bike almost every week and have been doing so for decades. I stop to refill water bottles and take an energy break.

This is a great school! I went there from preschool all the way to 8th grade and I loved it there. They have great teachers, and although it's a little different now, I still know that it's a great school with great values.

12 full size courts, brightly lit until 11pm. Also has 6 walls for individual practice. Well maintained restrooms, water fountains. While walk-ins are free, reservation fee is $15 per hour - quite expensive. The online reservation system isn't user-friendly. Crowded during evenings.

The Nisene Marks Park is notorious for glorious views of Majestic Redwoods and for a year around Creek. It has wonderful walking trails and at the far end of the park past the steel bridge through the narrow drive out amongst open space of Redwood trees and other trees and some picnic tables that are scattered about, you'll find a large dusty parking lot that also has some picnic tables hidden below near the Creek, to of which you might like to have a picnic with your family. In addition or simply by itself, you can park your car and hike along the Creek or scale the mountains for an adventurous walk.

WOW! This is a real forest. Serene and tranquil and they have tried to leave the trails as natural as possible. Hiking up to the waterfall was an adventure and has something for everyone (walking through tall redwoods, wading in the stream, climbing over tree trunks and even some rock climbing). We got there around 8 AM for a 9 mile out and back hike. The parking lots inside the park are small, but you can park in many different areas as long as it's marked otherwise. Some of the trails are very narrow (especially away from the main park) and I imagine slippery, muddy conditions in the winter.

Spent the afternoon here with my 6 year old daughter. We parked at the entrance station and did a short hike down the Old Growth trail to Aptos Creek, lucky for us we discovered and amazing creek beach with a rope swing. Four stars because the bathrooms were from the dark ages, flytraps hanging from the ceiling and no windows, I’ve never seen my daughter turn around so fast! Don’t let that ruin an amazing experience in the redwoods!

the JCC stands for Jewish community center, my parents used work here they stopped becuase we got busy not CAUSE off the jcc itself. there isnt really kosher food but there is sushi sometime and snacks at the cafe the playground and pool is really nice. Its mainly reformed jews that go there. but for big events there sometimes is rabbi's and kosher food stands (hint my parents run the kosher food stands) But i really love the jcc my sister had her batmitzvah there and my other sister too! i genuienly love this place.

I cancelled my gym membership at OFJCC over 3 years ago. Now they are texting me once a week to get me to rejoin. I have requested three times that they stop with the spam texts but the texts keep coming. Crazy, crazy behavior for a gym. If someone needs a gym membership, they'll find you. Has anyone ever responded positively to a spam text from a gym? Hard to imagine so.

Guys at the front desk were not friendly at all. Sales person wasn't interested in selling us memberships and did a quick facilities tour almost silently. Outdoor pool is nice, lockers and showers are nice and clean, gym is equipped with modern stuff. But anyway, this place is overpriced.

Wonderful campus - we took the tour and were very impressed. The Athletic Dept "wow-ed" us. We met a number of smart, friendly students who were very helpful. The Mission Church and Gardens are lovely. We made a vsit and were highly impressed with architecture and recent improvements on painting/decor. We have two pals who are teachers there...and generally, they rave about the university. Many friends/generations graduated from SCU - all glowing with praise. Esp love the stunning Sullivan Aquatic Center. Wow! The Pat Malley Center - named after the very famous SCU Coach is a great sports facility. And, the famous - well loved - Buck Shaw (a really BIG SCU Sports Hero and Coach) once had a Stadium named after him...go figure.

Don't take your family to The "Woodlands Youth camp" in Joseph Grant park. It is 15 mins walk from parking lot. That makes it hard for families to lug camping gear to it. They should not call this a "youth" camp. At least one 4 year old (in our group ) slipped and fell as he got tired walking back and forth. He cried as his knees were scrapped. At the entrance, a kindly Park Ranger greeted us at the gate to Joseph Grant park. He told us that we can temporarily drive up to our campsite to drop off our camping gear. However, we have to drive our car out of the Woodlands Youth Campsite after that - which we did comply. When it was time to leave, I drove my car into camp to load my camping gear back into it. Another ranger drove his truck and blocked our exit. 3 other families were hit with parking tickets from this 2nd ranger. There was a metal pole on one side of the road so that he could block us. We were "setup" and trapped! If the park really did not want us to load/unload in there, their ranger should not have told us that we could load/unload at campsite. They would put a bar across the dirt road. Again since this Youth Camp is far from parking, it should not be called Youth. They should have warned us on their website that there's a long distance to walk from parking lot to camp.

My assessment is based on several investigative visits to open houses and interviews of current and former parents. I wanted to be thorough in my research of a school for my son and daughter. The school does indeed get high scores for producing students that know how to perform well on standardized exams and does attract faculty that have advanced degrees. And that's about all the positives I could find. The administration heaps overwhelming extra duties on faculty and my guess is that this is why they have trouble with retention and consistency with implementing the BASIS system of learning. There is no real athletic program to speak of nor any athletic facilities, I mean, I'm all for academics, but athletics does play an important role in the development of young minds and healthy bodies. Also, I've found that the administration too often lets the voices of a few parents overwhelm the voices of the majority. I believe this is a primary indication of weak and inexperienced leadership. Neither of the heads of school at BASIS San Jose nor Fremont have ever held a leadership position before nor have they had any form of leadership training that I could verify. If you're considering BASIS, do your homework like I did and ask lots of questions, and not to just the "salesmen" at open houses (which includes selected parents and students). Get real opinions from people who have left for other schools, as well as current students and parents. I concluded that its an overpriced option that spends an inordinate amount of time teaching students how to take a test and very little else.

We love BASIS for both our daughters (Grades 5P & 5) and are excited to have them back this Fall. The children learn from highly qualified teachers, who love what they teach. They are constantly challenged in class by their teachers and peers. The workload is healthy. The children are taught to take ownership of their learning and grades - an awesome life skill to learn at such a young age! The management and teachers are very open to ideas and suggestions. We are delighted to have found the school for our children :)

I am a student who will not give out his real name, as I do not wish to get into trouble. I have a message to anyone who is coming to BASIS Independent Silicon Valley next year: PLEASE DON'T COME HERE. STAY IN WHICHEVER SCHOOL YOU ARE IN RIGHT NOW, AS THERE IS NO WAY IT IS WORST THAN BASIS. THIS IS FOR YOUR OWN GOOD.

Silver Creek Academy is an amazing tutoring center with an extremely helpful and fun environment. The teachers care about each and every one of their students. As a student who took a class there, I can be honest when I say it is very helpful to take a class there and you will improve in the subject you are receiving help in. There is no better place to receive help from than Silver Creek Academy.
