We were hoping for a nice sunny windless day to do Superior, we got the windless but just fog. So headed up to Two Island Lake for a beautiful paddle on a nice calm lake with great fall colors and sun!. Thanks to Ruth and her knowledge and history of the lake it made a great paddle, besides seeing a couple Eagles. Thanks for a great time!

It's high end, but they don't act that way. If you look like you're prepping a BWCAW trip, they're not jaded. They want to know where you're going and what can they offer to help you get there smoother.

SHWS is a treasure chest packed with essentials for your adventure. I even purchased first quality hiking boots in my size! Do yourself a favor and look here before you drive down to Duluth! But be patient. Staff is caring and provides excellent service; but limited staffing in this two story store helps with keeping affordable pricing. What a treat! My only regret is i didn't get to stop in after our SHT Section 6 bp and say thank you for the awesome boots.
