Amazing surf instructors! Had a great couple of lessons here learning how to improve my skills. The instructors were patient, friendly and really helpful. They answered all my questions as well as continually giving me advice in the water on how to improve. It was a great experience and I’ve learnt a lot. I feel more confident and knowledgeable just after a couple of lessons! Highly recommend this company for surf lessons of all ages and all skills - from beginners to advanced-.

Professional, fun & focused on individual needs A couple of days ago a friend & myself had a private lesson with Fabio from the let's go surfing team. We got exactly what we needed: a bit of theory regarding turns and then a lot of practice in the water. During our time in the water and in between waves we got further instructions and tips how to improve our skills. I had a wonderful time and after the lesson I felt a lot more comfortable to go surfing on my own again. Thanks a lot Fabio! It was great having you as our surf coach. I definitely recommend this surf school for beginners as well as more advanced surf students :)

Gus recently took our thirteen year old daughter for a 2 hour lesson. He is the most authentic open engaging person you could ever hope to meet - a born teacher. He was in the water with our daughter the whole time helping her to paddle onto each wave, providing specific feedback about how she was going and showing her how to improve. Her confidence and ability just soared. I heartily recommend Gus to anyone wanting to learn to surf. He is an asset to the Bay.

Best investment you will ever make if you want to learn how to surf. Can’t recommend Rusty and the team highly enough. Gus will get you standing up within a couple of waves and help you progress your skills well past a standard lesson.

My girlfriend and I engaged Rusty's team for a 2 person lesson at The Pass in Byron and we were assigned to/with Gus. Wow. He was fantastic. Such a great listener and observer, which made him a great teacher. He assessed us individually and gave us each personal instruction that helped us push us and help us move ahead. Great couple of hours with Gus.

Hey guys:D Best surf experience ever! I did a 1 month surfcamp with the guys from byron bay surf school. The team made it easy and fun for me to learn the basics quickly!:D They also teached me to never give up! „There will be good and bad days. Keep on going“! :) Thanks for the tips and tricks from Jamie and his amazing instructor crew! I really much enjoyed my stay and surf sessions with you all! Always open for questions and answering them so well and detailed that i was able to understand very quickly. Even got some theorie lessons and detailed sketches about water conditions and rules. Thank you Jonathan:D! I was able to get used to the conditions better and better. You not only learn how to stand on the board but also how to read the ocean what the difficulties are and how to behave in the water. All instructors are with full passion. The relaxed and fun mood made it pleasant for me to get in the water every single day. One day Jamie took us for a SUP lesson to a beautiful place near Byron to give the daily surf lessons a little change:D it was amazing!!!sooo folks you wanna book some surf lessons in exciting byron? Had a great lesson yesterday with Cameron and Tom. They were really enthusiastic, friendly and put a lot of effort into helping us stand up for the first time on the board. Would definitely recommend!

Had a crazy experience today, got caught by 5-6 waves in a row and got taken out. Luckily Tom was close by and came out of his way to help me and my friend out of the tricky situation. Honestly can't thank him enough for his help, especially since we weren't even taking part in the lessons.????????

Stayed in 2 bedroom apartment. The apartment was very spacious but very basic. Very daggy pictures, no where to put keys. We were put upstairs with 3 kids under 3, terrible with prams up and down. The floors under the couch and the rug weren’t clean. The pool was good but didn’t provide enough shade.

Absolutely amazing place to stay. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Good off street parking, our room had 2 spaces. Kitchen completely setup for a long stay. Incredibly clean throughout. Very comfortable bed and couch. Beautiful spa on balcony. Big bathrooms. Nice view of the pool and ocean. Walking distance to beach and local shops. Would definitely stay again. Thank you ????????????

Well worth the trip here. I live on the Gold Coast and I'm more than happy with traveling all this way. I bought a guitar from here and Nick was awesome to deal with. When it arrived Nick inspected it then rang me to say that he had to send it back because he wasn't happy with the finish of the paint on it and another one was on it's way. His attention to detail and supplying nothing but the best for his customers is of a very high standard. I highly recommend Byron Music. Many thanks Nick .

Knowledgeable and friendly staff, lots of activities during the day to entertain all age groups. In residence; koala, wombat, llama, kangaroos, snakes, emus, walk through aviary, cockatoos etc. the gift shop was well stocked with interesting gift items. The cafe was simple but fine (pancakes were GREAT). Mini-golf was fun. The place is in need of some TLC but do support it for the on-going benefit of the animals. Four hours well spent.

Our wedding was full of so much happiness and love and we couldn’t have imagined having it anywhere else! The amazing team looked after us and everyone that attended with so much detail that it seemed that they enjoyed the night as much as we all did - From animal encounters, train rides, setting up the space, the unique and yummy menu options and anything we needed was never too much trouble. It was full of so fun much and we received only wonderful feedback from our guest about everything. The animals were added surprise entertainment for all our guests - both youth and old. It was really just the best day ever! :)

The Macadamia Castle has some really cute animals and a great relaxed pet farm environment. The inside is a little dated and I wasn’t a huge fan of the old school cafeteria style restaurant. Perhaps would be better as a modern Byron style restaurant and a gift shop.

went on the last whale watching cruise of the season with these guys and cant recommend them enough. Crew were awesome, super chilled, easy going and fun. It was great to be on a boat where you can move around and sit on the bow as well. Had the privilege of seeing 6 beautiful humpbacks...what a way to spend a morning!! We will definitely book with them again as you can never see too much whale :)

hi all I surprised my wife with a whale watching trip with these guys what a morning that we will never forget. The skipper and crew where great and very helpful. The amount of whales we saw was amazing a small baby one which was breaching for a good 15 minutes with its mum keeping it from getting to close to the boat. a great morning and we will be doing it again and would recommend blue bay whale watching to anyone who wants to go and see the whales, again thanks to all the staff at blue bay divers

The experience was okay, a little boring given the lack of autonomy. The tour guide constantly turning around, telling you where to stand and what speed to walk at. The website advertises the Forrest walk for $90 but on the day the lady called and asked for $100. There was 2 of us. I really didn't want to make a scene over $20 given it was a present but the principle bothered me. It was an unprofessional experience and I would recommend going elsewhere.

I really can't recommend this place enough. The teachers (Ben and Johan) are absolutely brilliant. My 3 young kids went here, one of whom was very nervous about swimming and they were so good at taking it slowly,. building trust and rapport with the kids and ultimately teaching them a huge amount in a short space of time. They learnt more in a week here than in literally months of attending a swim school elsewhere. 11/10!

Ben is an absolute legend with the kids and our little boy loves going here every week for his swim lessons. The view from the pool over the Byron hinterlands is not to shabby either ! I would highly recommend using this swim school.

Flavio has been teaching my daughter as a complete beginner and after 1 term she's learnt so much about skateboarding...and loves going to the lessons. Flavio is a great teacher full of knowledge, pro skills, enthusiasm and knows how to relate and adapt to every individual. The Skate All Day program is a fantastic method which inspires & challenges my daughter to achieve new skill levels. She's totally stocked and fully into it. Flavio's the best :)

Jeff says 'as far as paid camping goes, it's a 10/10'. Jeff usually only camps in free sites. I loved it. The owners were super friendly and welcoming. The facilities were tremendous, and the view from the site is lovely. Would definitely stay again.

Best hostel ever, professional kitchen, 24hrs really hot water, function room with TV, Table tennis, snooker, coffee machine, 20 dollars/per night for bed and 15 for camping, really good price compared with others. Have a small path backyard straightly down to beach, quiet and good scenery. And what's more important is that the owners, David and Natasha, are reeeeally nice people, always helpful and enthusiastic.

I was looking for somewhere in Ballina with some members who train the powerlifts and strongman HARD! So far I've been to every gym but despite seeing tons of guys in rugby and league team uniforms I've seen barely anyone squatting on deadlifting more than bodyweight. My partner met Sarah one of the PT's at cross fit and Sarah competes in strongwoman so we Knew she trained hard. Everyone we met during our visit were absolutely lovely, the Head Coach took the time to come and chat. I highly recommend crossfit Ballina to anyone Interested In learning the Olympic Lifts and who prefers to workout in a group with a coach. I cannot do the Olympic lifts due to cerebral palsy and i am more of a headphones and go into myself kind of lifter, but I love to look around and SEE people around me training hard. All round a great setup with great people. Highly recommend a tour and a chat. ????

A 100mt walk to the showers is par for the course and for those who think it's too far, then try camping next to a smelly block in some sites..Gold medal

Highly recommend this camp site and the leagues club. Right on the river. Caretakers were fantastic, being treated to scones and muffins on fathers day, home cooked by Judith. A shout out to Dawn and husband, the gardens are really special. Soon to be built amenities will make this stop a favourite with everyone. Loved it and will be back. Make sure you go and have a beer or two at the club, and then it's a lovely short walk home.
