Easy to arrange, pick up from by my hotel was on time, and a short drive up out of Brisbane to Redcliffe, with time to go to the bathroom, buy some sunglasses and walk out on the jetty to the waiting boat. Friendly, warm welcome, and shown upstairs to VIP area (air-con), with seats by window, and free drink, as well as lovely serve by host. There’s a safety briefing, then head out into the bay, and in the shelter of Morton island, with its sand banks, with a little bit of a swell as we left the protection of the island, but reward was sighting whales. Lots of them. Everywhere. Quite amazing really, and captain Kerry Lopez giving informative commentary and sporting the whales, which were blowing, basking, lolling around, breaching and fin slapping all around the boat. Great spread provided at the buffet lunch (for those not feeling a little seasick). Would recommend you don’t gorge yourself beforehand, if you are prone to seasickness, take one of the seasick pills sold by staff $1. On our day, it was a little uncomfortable with the movement of the sea, but the boat is stable, there are plenty of spaces around the decks to view the humpback whales, and staff will point out other creatures too - we saw hammerhead sharks, and sea turtles, and dolphins. The purpose built boat, and the engaging style of the operation makes whale watching accessible to all, and the price, which can include Brisbane pickup, is good value for a day’s experience, with a few hours in the vicinity of the whales, which migrate and hang around June to November. There’s a bar, snack store and souvenir shop on aboard too. I liked the atmosphere of the trip and even the background music to add to the feel good vibe. And have unforgettable memories from being so close to the huge creatures. Highly recommended.

Not sure what I expected but it was better. Relaxing boat ride out to the whale grounds, beautiful ship (could even buy my morning latte). And the whales were so close it was breathtaking. Topped off with friendly enthusiastic staff, what a wonderful day.

Amazind day spent out on the water! Great boat, great staff, great facilities, great lunch, great commentary and so many whales!! We also saw dolphins and a few hammerhead sharks. The boat was set up very well. Great for both adults and kids, everyone will have a blast!! Highly recommend, great value for money!

I loved it! I was a bit scared at first, but Luke and Andrew made me feel so at ease. They are so professional, knowledgeable and passionate about the sport, and their positivity is infectious. Thanks to them, I will be able to kite surf solo very soon!! Highly recommend this company! : )

My experience with Kite Boarding Cairns was awful. There was no wind but they still insisted I take the lesson - I spent the time on the beach - there wasn't enough wind to fly the kite. $200 wasted The second lesson was on a real blustery day and the waves were very big it was very unpleasant at Palm Cove and there we rocks on the sea bed - I had to walk over. Palm Cove is not shallow and is rocky - a horrible place to learn. There are better places to learn to kite surf - a shallow beach with a sandy sea bed would be much better. Go to Yorkeys Knob or Port Douglas if you want to learn kitesurfing in Cairns

Amazing experience. Staff fantastic. A wonderful and memorable afternoon. Highly recommend this trip. Loved the way skipper liaised with other tour operators to share whale sightings while we were out looking for pods.

Excellent experience both times we went. The smaller boat lets you get right up close to the whales without looking through glass. You can usually find a voucher or code on the web to get a discount on regular prices. Highly recommended company.

Says it’s open everyday, hasn’t answered calls or emails from our group wanting to book. Went there to try our luck, gate was open (no CLOSED signs) no one was there. Completely barren. Stupid.

My first ever experience in a hot air balloon for my 21st birthday with my partner. Every part of this was something I will never forget. I can proudly say that I helped to pack the balloon up which is an awesome bonus. Lovely view, amazing experience. Recommend the birthday package with breakfast, champagne and cake! The pilot as well as the bus driver were very knowledgeable and amazing to talk to.

Definitely a Must-do in Cairns! Great experience, stunning views (sunrise, green field, lakes, ranges), awesome staff and very good service. Pick-up was very on time and our balloonist did a great job. It's very safe and suitable for all ages. We enjoyed it very much! Highly recommend!????

I ordered a 30 minute balloon ride. The bus that picked us up from our hotel was timely and the driver was above and beyond; serving not only as a driver but a helpful tour guide as well. Arriving at sunrise, the balloons were awaiting and everything moved ahead timely. Our pilot, Josh, was fantastic. The views were spectacular, especially the wallabies below. I would recommend this to anyone. Pictures are also taken aboard which serves as great memories of a great experience.

Had a really nice time in the Hot Air Balloon, gets a bit hot from the flames but that's in the title, beautiful views of farmlands, mountain ranges and ofcourse the sunrise. Champange Buffett breakfast at O'Reilly's vineyard with a few wine tastings, was a great way to end the experience.

We did a lot of research on tours for Daintree Forest and snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef in Cairns, but information suited for our specific needs was hard to find, and required a lot of time. We decide to walk into this Tourist Centre whereby Kat greeted us kindly and guided us through the info. She was very charismatic helpful and patient, giving us honest and quality advice as well as insighter tips for the multiple tours on offer. She seems to have done multiple tours and knows what she is talking about first hand. I would recommend anyone staying in Cairns to come into this information centre and find the information you need to plan your trip, and if you can ask for Kat!

Lots of stingers yesterday so we made the choice not to snorkel. I think there could have been some more transparency and warning about this. We swapped snorkelling for glass bottom boat and staff offered to refund the cost of lycra suit and life vests (probably should be included anyway though...). I'm very glad we didn't order lunch, because it looked terrible. I think there's enough feedback about this that if Big Cat took our reviews seriously they would have done something already. The island itself is of course beautiful but the resort is very tacky.

Great day, great staff. Went on the Snorkeling Safari with Daniel, would highly recommend. Very knowledgeable and personable, happy to help and obviously loves being in the water! He also provided some great tips on where to snorkel off of the beach near to the jetty where there was a high assortment of fish and marine animals including turtles. The buffet was tasty, however the line was very long when we arrived at our suggested times. The disembarkation when we arrived at Green Island was very slow, and could possibly be organised more efficiently but this didn't take away from the day overall. I would recommend this to anyone.

A must do for snorkelling buffs! You actually see a lot of marine life, much more than other tour groups! If you can’t snorkel they also provide a glass bottom boat ride that lets you see the reef close up! Many many fish to see! Friendly, helpful team ????

I definitely recommend going and watching the platypus swim and play. And of course the abundance of Koalas to look at. Well worth the time and money if you are visiting the area.

We got the cruise/park combo, and had the best time! Captain Ron/Bob/Rob (we never could figure out his actual name) was a great time and an awesome city host. I'm so glad we opted to include the cruise, it made everything perfect! Here dropped us at the park, we held a koala, made our way around, had a glass of wine after, and then went back to the dock for our ride home. Our boat was parked beside a party boat that we stepped into first. Had a snack, another drink, then walked on over to our boat and headed back to town. Although I've already done it, it's definitely something I'd do again! Koalas and drinks, you can never have enough!

We went with a group to take in River Fire. We had tried a different cruise company on New years eve and found them not to our liking. This time I was much happier. It is not a massive boat and therefore only catered to approximately 80 people. This ensured boarding was easy and fast. There did not appear to be a lot of seating at tables however we were able to find a table quickly. The food was good, no complaints and there was plenty of it. The staff were friendly and helpful. The captain anchored in a great position for us to watch the fireworks and jet fly past. I didn't think the cost was too bad $120. I would like to go on another cruise with this company.

These guys were absolutely awesome. We did the ‘Reef Encounter’ day trip. Great value for money and included an intro scuba diving session. I had to do another. You won’t regret choosing this company to make your Great Barrier Reef experience come true. The crew made it even more enjoyable. Keep up the good work.

I have been out with Passions of Paradise before, but many years ago on their old boat and to different locations. Their level of service, friendless and professionalism of staff on Sunday was as excellent as it has ever been. Their new boat is AMAZING. It is so comfortable with plenty of space for everyone to lounge with choices for both the sun lovers or the shade lover. Lunch was delicious and fresh and their equipment on the boat was first rate. We visited 2 reef sites on the day, Milne Reef and 3 Sisters. Both were stunning, but 3 Sisters was outstanding. There were so many fish and so many varieties, both small and large. The coral was plentiful and so alive and healthy. The visibility was so good we almost felt like we had vertigo looking into the depths. I floated for ages in the current with the fish just bobbing back and forth with them. All round this was a brilliant day. Thank you Passions of Paradise.

I had a wonderful experience with this company. The crew is very professional, they are both thoughtful and funny. The food was delicious, i went with another company a few years ago and it wasn’t nearly as good. The crew made us feel at home, some occasionally came up for a chat, some brought us crackers and cheese while we were sitting outside in a place no one else was sitting! It was so thoughtful, we really appreciated it. Then they had a whole tray of tasty biscuits and tea as well which was another wonderful touch. I didn’t have it with another company... Passions of Paradise is the best company out there for sure.

Such a beautiful boat with an actual sail, the company seems to be very conscious about sustainability and taking care of the reef. Russell, Bonnie and Erin outstanding staff. I booked this tour for my mother and her friends (8 people over 60.) I couldn't be there with them and Australian Kayaking Adventures has been nothing but helpful. They picked up the group at their accommodation and showed them a great time. The guide even learned a couple of Vietnamese words from the group so he could teach them kayaking. The raved about how much fun they had. They returned safe and sound. Seeing the fish, kayaking to the island, and being shown hospitality have really made the trip. Thank you very much!
