Utterly splendid visitor experience at the Heide. The staff are so welcoming and friendly and the cafe and shop are well worth a visit. Oh, and then there's the architecture of the place and the collection, which is what you've really gone to see. The original cottage at the top of the hill is full of character - you can imagine the owners having just stepped out. And then down at the 'new' house it's all modern concrete and delightfully straight lines. Check out the sculpture walks in the garden and leave very happy.

Ventured to the cafe. Service = I was seen to immediately and staff were attentive throughout. Food = Chicken burger ($24) was a good size and there was actual chicken (unlike other places that use cheap processed stuff). Price was a bit excy but I knew beforehand. Ambience = Nice decor and places to sit outside. Main issue is that they should keep the door closed to keep out the flies from landing on the cutlery!!

Heide is an amazing place to visit; their exhibits are consistently eye-opening and very well presented and the staff are extremely helpful. The door price of $20 is a great deal when you consider it grants access to every exhibit they have on-site, so you can really spend several hours enjoying all there is to see. Add to this the great little cafe they have and the fantastic park grounds that contain many many more sculptures, it really makes for a fantastic way to spend a day, either alone or with a close one. Highly recommend it!

Attended the Moon exhibition. Loved the use of space. Never felt rushed. Really enjoyed the variety of exhibits. Beautiful building. If the weather had been kinder, would have explored the precinct but preferred staying dry.

I was recommended to come to Arts on Burgundy by a friend because they specialize in archival custom framing. The team are really friendly and are very professional in the way they go about their business. I was very happy with the quality of framing of my artwork. I was happy to find out that they do all their custom framing on sight and that it doesn't get sent away. Interesting to note that they also have a great range of art supplies and have art classes there as well! Now that they I know that they sell art supplies, I will only be too happy to come by again.

Lu is the real deal. Hugely knowledgeable across a wide range of mediums including a variety of digital programs. If you have a goal artistically Lu really tries to find a way to get you there. Her back ground story is fascinating and gives her enormous credibility.

I have been one of Lu's students for four years and would recommend her classes without hesitation. Lu's classes cater for all levels of experience and style. As an beginner, Lu guides you through a set of technical exercises with accompanying notes and instruction, but also encourages you to develop your own style and instinct through practice and patience. Classes are run at students' own pace, with each student working on their own project over the course of the term. Lu has a wide-ranging knowledge of art techniques, materials and styles. She gets to know her students and their strengths, and helps them to develop their confidence and artistic intuition. Lu's classes are informal and welcoming, in a spacious and well-equipped studio, set in peaceful surroundings. Having not picked up a pencil or paintbrush since my school days, l have, with Lu's help, been able to develop my skills enough to feel confident in submitting my work to local art shows, and have even won a couple of prizes! Thank you Lu!

A brilliant place to learn and Lu is a extremely gifted artist and teacher. Great for all ages. Students from 8 years to whatever age you want to try something different. Learn all styles from Sketching to Oil painting and everything in between, all skill levels are in the classes so even a complete novice like me felt comfortable. Teaching can be structured or at your own pace which just suited me as I wanted to try everything. Would recommend highly.

I made a trip to the Duldig Studio to research information for a university assignment, and the Director and guides went above and beyond in giving me the information I needed regarding volunteering, the studio's history and the artistic legacy of Karl and Slawa Duldig. Walking into the Studio feels like an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The intimate environment, the large array of sculptures and the gorgeous sculpture garden makes the Studio well worth visiting. I'd wholeheartedly recommend the Studio to art lovers, families and all that are interested in Melbourne's social history.

A tiny yet full of story house, nicely tucked away in Malvern East. Often people would drive past without realising this beauty ☺️ they are open two afternoons per week and open on one Saturday per month. Make sure you visit this place at least once.

Interesting place, hasn't changed much over the years though. Good for a wander with kids or a loved one, even the dog. Parking is reasonable, but may be full on nice weekends. Cafe pricey and a bit exclusive, bring your own picnic basket preferably. Be prepared for groups of Pokemon\ingress players roaming through on occasion.

Some really fantastic sculptures to be seen at the McClelland sculpture park. Spent a few hours wandering around the magic, could have spent a lot more time. Didn't eat at the cafe however the menu looked great. Would like to revisit and spend a few more hours. If you haven't gone, make a point of seeing it, it's worth the effort.

So maybe if like me you take time to understand each piece of art, keep a good 3 hours available. I couldn't quite understand the some of the stone work. Maybe a printed description would be useful.

I have been here to study oil painting for three semesters and I would say this place is fantastic！I feel so lucky to have Greg as my first painting teacher to guide me the way of art. Painting is my best meditation now and I enjoy every moment here.

The VAS run classes staffed by dedicated and experienced artists. They have many exhibitions throughout the year showcasing local artists of high calibre. One can hire the Cato gallery for a reasonable price. A lift is currently being installed for disabled and elderly patrons. Close to the city it could be an interesting addition to a brief visit of Melbourne, though regular visits can prove fruitful.

What a beautiful space! Went to see the exhibition of Sue Fraser and Klara Jones last week. Was beautiful, confronting, stirring, interesting, and thought provoking - everything great art works are. Then there was the surprise of Julia Tresize's amazing ENT - Into the Woods exhibition. Just enchanting! Julia's work is loving and soul - touching. It is a lovely art space for the whole community to enjoy and displays local artists' work. Children are welcome. Would highly recommend a visit. :)

Really enjoy exploring the gallery and seeing the new exhibits. Although some exhibits you have to pay to enter, most of the facility is free. The staff are always helpful if you are polite and the food is lovely at the general restaurant on the ground floor. They also cater for children in the gallery exhibits. There's a few interactive kids-oriented exhibits each time we go and our 6 year old really enjoys spending a few hours here. The food here is generally very good (and priced accordingly) but bear in mind the menu isn't aimed at kids but there are some options so if you have a picky eater, you may struggle here.

Very extensive collection of artworks. One of the best in Australia. I really enjoyed the Chinese progression of art over time. Another interesting part is the Egyptian and Mesopotamian. The best part is that there is only one or two exhibitions that are paid. The majority is free so this a good place for people on a budget. They also have a large area the back of the museum dedicated for kids play area that is very peaceful. Overall would visit again

Really good, interesting and well curated exhibitions. Neat little cafe. Good parking space. Beautiful location which backs onto park land which goes down to a shady and exotic walk in botanical gardens with seating available. You can also take a path through from gardens to a Chinese temple precinct if desired.

Just want to say thankyou for a wonderful and very professional show we had for a recent birthday party. The presenter Rachel was amazing and kept a bunch of 3 year olds entertained and mesmerized for the entire hour. Even the adults had an amazing time. Highly recommend the Zoo Comes To You!
