WestSide Athletic Club has a great atmospheric presence. Boasting many amenities for your overall body workouts. Two sets of 5-100lb dumbbells stacked opposite each other allows multiple people to work out whichever muscles they need without encroaching upon someone else's workout routine. No need to wait for those 35lb dumbbells to curl since two sets are available. :) There is also a set of straight and curved barbells ranging from 20-110lb for all your arm exercises. One bench press station with the long 45lb bar and weights to add. There's an array of cable-resistance machines, as well as a handful of cardio equipment. In the back corner, they have an adjustable squat rack as well as a few stand-alone 45lb flat bars for cleans/presses for the bodybuilders. The locker room (men's) is VERY clean and tidy. Towels are provided for an after workout shower and a basket for laundry before departing. My only cons for this establishment are lack of a flat bench for bench pressing and how cramped some workout stations are in relation to each other. The benches there are adjustable which is nice for certain exercises but having a non-adjustable flat bench is great for benching without having a crease or moving parts which tends to cause slight imbalances when bench pressing. Overall, it's a very nicely temperature controlled facility with all of the amenities you'd need. The membership includes use of the outdoor pool and tennis/basketball courts. Two thumbs up!

Great staff, weight room well organized and clean facility. Especially appreciate the traffic flow during summer months, as you are traveling in opposite direction of Outer Banks vacationing beach traffic.

Excellent location as both a retreat center and a summer camp. God’s work is as radiant as ever here, the entire camp is beautiful. PLUS a wonderful staff, thrilling activities like the new climbing wall and the high ropes course and more. Also has a great pool and lake to relax in, as well as plenty of awesome trails. The director, Josh, is extremely kindhearted and hard working. 5 out 5 stars for this camp. If it was out of 100 stars, it would be 100 out of 100

I love this place so much! I look forward to going every year, everyone is so nice and helpful around the camp. And there are plenty of things to do like the lake, crafts, archery, ropes courses, and many more. If you want a fun summer come here!

Our boys have had the best summer at Mt. Shepherd day camp. The staff has been great in providing a safe, stimulating and fun environment. The camp and staff is really at the top of their game. Highly recommend.

If you're looking for the quintessential mountain golf experience, MountainAire Golf Course is it. Just as it would be on any other course it's all about ball placement out here. The #3 hole playing at 426 yards will take your breath away with the dramatic drop from the tee box to the fairway. Hit it well on #3, just don't hit it LEFT. The fairways and greens are in great shape and the layout is very "recreational golfer friendly". If you are in Boone or Blowing Rock, it's just a 30-40 min drive to this fun golf course. I only wish I was able to play the back nine. Unfortunately, we were rained out. With its wonderful mountain views and playability, MountainAire is a gem.

Beautiful views. Reasonably priced. Very good condition despite recent rainy conditions. Worth the drive. Wish we had time to play it again.

What a great golf course. Every time I play here it seems to be excellent shape. Great staff, affordable rates, awesome views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and just a fun course to test one's golf skills.

Camp Monroe has always been a special place! My mother went to Camp Monroe as a child, and my sister and I followed in her footsteps. In fact, the camp made such a positive impact on my life, I worked there every summer from age 16-23. What amazing memories. Now with the property becoming such a popular wedding/event venue, and the facilities updated and impeccably maintained, Monroe just keeps getting better. Highly recommended!

I have been going to Camp Monroe since I was young enough to be a camper. Then I joined staff where I met my husband! We both continue to volunteer each summer. All of our children have attended camp and this year we will send our first grandchild. What a blessing this incredible ministry has been in our family's lives. It is one of our high and holy places - a scared place we love sharing with others by sponsoring other children to attend camp. Our own rehearsal dinner was at camp and our daughter's wedding was there. We now enjoy retreats at camp. It is a place for all ages. Can you tell we love Camp Monroe!

My kids have gone to Camp Monroe for 3 years now. For the last 2 years they have come back happy and excited about all the activities they were able to do. The counselors have been great with them. The camp puts a lot of training into the counselors to ensure the safety and well being of the campers. They are looking forward to another year with Camp Monroe.

Great driving range. Was able to get a club regripped while on the range which was incredibly convenient. Very friendly staff and well maintained facility.

If I could leave all the stars blank I would. I ordered a Smith and Wesson .460 XVR for a upcoming hunting trip through Stumpies customs guns which placed the order through them which I had researched and found in stock. Needless to say their distribution didn’t ship it resulting in the revolver not arriving in time for my hunting trip which one causes me the money out of my pocket for it and two required me to purchase one from a different distributor and gun shop. I always try to buy locally and support local businesses but this most definitely leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Very shady business to accept payment and not to ship merchandise out. It is the most unprofessional business customer service I have ever in my life received. I will not recommend to anyone and will not ever spend another penny with anything having to deal with this business.

After researching the pros and cons of several fishing carts I finally decided on one and purchased the Sea Striker® Deluxe Beach Cart. Whether surf-fishing on the beach or simply using it to haul gear back and forth to different fishing spots it has been the perfect cart and has served all of my needs. It has been trouble free and is extremely durable. Unfortunately while pulling the loaded cart up the steps of a beach ramp I snapped the handle off. This was likely my fault and was the direct result of rotating and torquing the handle while pulling the cart. After returning to the retailer and looking online for a replacement handle I finally decided to contact Big Rock Sports, and Joel Snedeker immediately sent me out a replacement handle. The customer service I received was amazing and if I ever have to buy another cart again I would definitely by the Sea Striker® Deluxe Beach Cart. I think all retailers should use Big Rock Sports products because this company is 5-stars in my book.

Very nice challenging course. We played two of the three nine-hole courses. The greens were great, the fairways were good on one of them courses, the other one was a wet mess with tire treads. Pretty good value. However I cannot justify more then 3 stars for a few reasons. With the amount of sand, water, dog legs and blind shots you cannot possibly play this course for the first time without some kind of reference. There are no pictures of the holes on the tee signs, there are no yardage books and there is no GPS. Also, all flags are yellow. There is no way to determine if the hole is front middle or back of the green. So without GPS or range finder, put a blindfold on and have a good time.

Shot in the dark after a Google search. Absolutely consider ourselves lucky for finding this place. Service was incredible. Absolutely amazing. We were a large group and they asked if we could be split as it was a slow night and staff wanted to make sure that everyone got tables (love how kind and considerate that is!). Specials were explained and the menu had something for everyone. If you like wings then this is must. They were delicious. Everything was delicious. Food came out quickly. Staff was attentive and accommodating. I can not say enough good things about this place. We were about 35-40 minutes from our home base but would easily drive again to eat here. So glad we stumbled onto this gem!
